About EPIA · Our story

Born from a simple belief:

Fertility care should feel less clinical, and more human.

EPIA was created for people standing at deeply personal crossroads, wondering whether to freeze their eggs, try IVF, understand a miscarriage, or simply ask, ‘What does my future look like?’ We wanted a place where science is strong but care is gentle, where patients are supported through decisions with clarity, compassion and evidence.

Why we started

Because too many people come to fertility care too late, too scared, or too alone.

The EPIA fertility care team

We met women who wished someone had spoken to them about their fertility earlier, before their options quietly narrowed.

We met couples exhausted after multiple failed IVF cycles, still without a clear understanding of why.

We met patients told to ‘just try again’ after a miscarriage, when what they truly needed were answers.

These stories reminded us that fertility care needs more than treatment plans, it needs time, listening, deeper investigation and honesty. So we created EPIA: a place to come not only for treatment, but for understanding.

Our journey

From one family's life in fertility medicine to a new kind of institute.

EPIA is rooted in more than 40 years of reproductive medicine.

At its heart is Dr. Rita Bakshi, one of India's most experienced fertility specialists, who has helped thousands of couples across four decades of practice.

Alongside her, Sakshi Bakshi brings a next-generation vision: preventive, research-driven and transparent, helping patients understand their fertility before time narrows their choices.

Legacy and innovation, working together.

The EPIA timeline

Four decades. One purpose.

  1. 1983

A journey into reproductive medicine begins.

Dr. Rita Bakshi dedicates her career to building families — and to thousands of deeply personal fertility journeys.

  2. 1990s-2020s
A wall of patient thank-you notes and baby photos spanning decades

Four decades of learning from every patient.

As patients and medicine evolved, one belief held firm: everyone deserves care that is thoughtful, evidence-based and deeply personal.

  3. The Next Generation
Sakshi Bakshi observing in the lab, the next generation, curious and considered

    Looking at fertility differently.

Patients weren't only seeking treatment, but understanding — why ovarian reserve is learned too late, and why repeated IVF failures went unquestioned.

  4. 2024
The EPIA institute, signage and a calm, modern reception

    EPIA is born.

Fertility preservation, IVF, recurrent pregnancy loss, embryology and research, brought under one institute — so people can decide based on science, not uncertainty.

  5. Today & Beyond
The EPIA team in a research huddle, forward-looking

Still learning. Still questioning. Still evolving.

A research-driven institute advancing reproductive care through innovation, collaboration and compassionate medicine.

Our philosophy

We believe good medicine begins with listening.

Not every journey requires IVF.

Sometimes the answer is treating an underlying condition, restoring reproductive health, or helping a couple conceive naturally. And when IVF genuinely is the best path, patients deserve to understand not only what we recommend, but why.

  • Recommend only the care that is appropriate.
  • Explain it honestly.
  • Support every patient with time, compassion and scientific rigour.

What you'll never hear from us

Because fertility care should be guided by understanding, not assumptions.

  • Everyone needs IVF.
  • Let's start treatment before understanding why.
  • One protocol works for everyone.
  • Just try again.
  • This is your only option.

Instead, you'll hear questions before recommendations, we take time to understand your history, explain your options clearly, and help you decide what feels right for your body, goals and future.

For everyone wondering,

What now?

Whether you're thinking about children years from now, trying to conceive today, recovering from pregnancy loss, or searching for answers after failed treatments, we're here to help you move forward with clarity, not uncertainty. Fertility care isn't just about helping people have babies. It's about helping people make informed decisions, preserve possibilities, and feel supported. Welcome to EPIA.
